I ended up purchasing the Cadac Safari after deliberating the Cobb. I cooked dinner on it the other day in the back garden before we go away with it next week. I barbecued the following on it.
2 x chicken breast, 1 x burger, 4 x sausage, 2 x length cut pork fillet. At first lighting i though what have i bought??? the flame feels weak and you can hear it blowing. I did not feel that any heat was coming up from the burner!! So I put the lid on and let it warm up (that was quick) remove lid and put food on and place lid back allowing it to warm up again and cook.
It cooked superbly!!!!! All you have to do is realise your not cooking on mains gas in a windless kitchen so by using the grill and the lid I got a good temp and the food cooked perfect. I will admit I only barbeque over lumpwood or coals and never gas so I had to adapt to a lot less heat than from my 4ft wide barbecue pit i normally use.
Adapt your cooking to suit, keep out of the wind and enjoy a easy way to cook. I've planned for pancakes, pizzas, eggs, bacon, chicken, sausage, burgers, steak. (looks like we'll have to do more walking)
when packed it is the size of a small portable TV and Light. I also use propane on the LP model.
