I am probably being a complete numpty here but what do you use Dry Ice for?

Thank you for all the concerns. Coming from South Africa where we use dry ice all the time for camping all one needs is to wrap it in enough news paper and you can handle it with your bare hands or if you want to be cautious a pair of oven mits.  If you then put it in a Polystyrene cool box and use it to keep your cool packs cold and any thing you want frozen it works a treat.

I know not to have it in a confined space and that it does produce harmfull gasses but apart from that so long as you dont try lick it or touch it with your bare skin you should be ok.

With so many options to choose from on keeping your food cold, 12 volt cool box, 3 way fridges, most campsites let you freeze your icepacks in their freezers I dont understand why you would want to use Dry Ice with all its dangers especially if you have kids?

Not sure a campsite would let you on if they knew either ?

so i've heard " cough cough " you can have a right laugh with it ,plastic bottle and lid with some warm water. quite a loud bang....you tube dry ice to see some footage....
