Hello any ideas please.

My sis in  law has a 30l coolbox maybe halfords, hardly had any use.We used it last sept for 4 nights and were very impressed.

She has recently bought a caravan and as we missed out on the lidl 1's i asked if we could have hers only.......................she had it working very recently but the day after when she plugged it in to fill with food etc it wouldn't come on any ideas?

It was to a household plug supply, the plug is a sealed unit there is no warranty left is it worth cutting the plug off and putting a new 1 on and changing the fuse?

Please help as funds are low and were off next weekend for 2 weeks to cornwall.

You may not need to change the plug - the moulded-on plug on the Lidl version has what appears to be a fuse-holder with recesses at each end, so could probably be prised off with a small screwdriver.     May be similar on your sister-in-law's?

Have you/has she tried the 12v input?

It should have a fuse though sometimes hard to see on dark plugs

I have a Mobicool and the instructions recommend that if the fridge has been unlevel you turn it upside down for 30 mins (without being switched on). I think this removes any air bubbles in the fluid.

It worked with ours.

Regards

Neil

Try checking the fuse & connections but if the motor has failed then its had it. Turning it upside down won't do any good, its not an absorbtion fridge.

Yup, it's just a wee fan thing in the lid that cools the vanes and cold air drops down into the box section. Check the fuse and for loose wires but after that, not a lot you can do.

Lidl are selling electric coolboxes for £29.99 if that's any help?

Hi , is it one of the coolboxes that also keep things hot if you flick a switch over? If it is, then it's possible that the switch has been moved to a position in between hot and cold. This happened to us a couple of years ago and it took us ages to figure out why the coolbox wasn't working........................just a thought

Bert

I did read all your replies and tried most.

In the end i took it in to halfords and asked if they sold new adaptors? and would they be willing to let me try before i buy?

The man from halfords he say YES! (sorry couldn't resisit,1more sleep 4 cornwall i'm excited)

Anyway thats what it was,the bit that plugs into the main black unit thingy. £19.99 but well worth it

As when i got in their i realised it was the 40l box currently on offer in halfords for £80

Bargain! ,Result.
