Just changed cars and now have a Peugeot 206 Est.  I don't think the boot is as large as the last car and feel we may need a roof box & rack. Still haven't got the two bar fitted, but thats another story ! Any suggestions on what I should be avoiding, looing out for etc.  Thanks guys.

If you want new, and to find out what fits your car anyway, try www.roofbox.co.uk. They're very helpful and knoweledgable and their service is excellent.

Don't buy from a dealer.

Thule stuff is expensive but the best. It also lasts forever, so if you're lucky you can find second hand on Ebay.

The Aldi RoofBox's got the thumbs up last year, no doubt they will be doing them again soon, as it was May last time, price anything from £60 to £80, depending on store location!, box size was 320lt measuring 83cm x 120cm x 38cm the brand was AUTO-XS 320 roof box, good size box with side opening, and the equivelant would no doubt cost £100+ from Halfrauds etc, I am keeping an eye out, as that size is perfect for fitting on my Trailers RoofRack. there is a used one on Ebay at the moment with a starting bid of £50 lol, if you wanted to look at photos of the box.

Went to get some bars for my S-max, went to Halfords, they wanted £300 plus for Thule kit, got some from Ford at half the price for exatly the same thing.

Hi, we have also just bought a 206 Est.  We bought some really cheap bars from Argos for our previous car and they fit the Peugeot fine, but we have discovered that they are hard to get on and off.  I think you get what you pay for.  We have a collapsible roof bag which is great and will be using that again this year.

Our current headache is a cycle rack for the Peugeot, cant put one on the boot and the car isnt really wide enough for 4 bike racks on the roof bars.  We have been given a quote of £190 for fitting a towbar so its going to be an expensive problem.  Dont really need a towbar for anything else - and dont really want to buy a trailer because I will just take even more camping gear with us!!
