We go away on Friday and i still need a cooler box(the lid has broke on our last one) a sleeping bag, air bed pump, mallet, a trug or folding bag (for dirty dishes) fleece blankets, camp kettle, multiplug(maybe) stove and i was thinking about getting some hand warmers to set off and throw into the sleeping bag if it gets a bit cold at night?
My partner is diabetic so we need a cooler box to store his insulin. I was thinking about a Coleman 34 Litre Excursion found it for 29.89 or a Igloo marine 52 found one for 36.89.
On sleeping bags...thinking Vango Nitestar.
Stove i am just thinking about getting a campinggaz one ring stove. It'll only mainly be used for coffee and possible quick meals like super noodles etc. Nothing fancy.
Really need opinions before Monday and where is best to find them...
We are going to wales for a few nights but its all be arranged last min.
Managed to get a 3person tent for £50, airbed for £19 and a touch for a fiver.
I use to camp loads and my parents still do so i am going to borrow from them, but they are also going away the same weekend to a different area so its basically whatever they arnt taking. lol.
As far as the stove is concerned why not go for a "suitcase" style they're about £10 in most camping stores. It will be man enough for boiling water and cooking up "simple" dishes like pasta/rice etc. Gas cannisterss are available from all sorts of places including some "pound" shops.
Good luck with your search and happy camping.
Bert
------------- If you think you can, or you think you can't.......you're probably right!
I bought an Igloo Maxcold 50 QT from here last week. The delivery was next day as promised and the coolbox is excellent. I still had plenty of ice in there after 6 days when I emptied it.
------------- Love a lot. Trust a few. But ALWAYS paddle your own canoe!!

Hi Stezzle, If you are coming to Towyn there is a good camping shop next to Henllys camp. and an allsorts shop further down the road in Towyn called T J's they will have everything that you need. Remember to bring something to go underneath the sleeping bags/air beds to insulate from the cold in the night. plus a couple of fleece blankets to throw over the top as well. You can manage with most things but in the middle of the night, you do not want to get too cold. Cheers Jon
forget the igloo marine coolers as they are more expensive than the maxcold range difference is the marine coolers are for sea boats and are pure white and have iv protection built into the plastic to stop them discolourng so look at the igloo range of coolers ie maxcold range for 5 day coolers for max preformance all other igloo coolers will keep food fresh up to 3 days plus please bear in mind all igloo coolers are manufactured in houston texas and these test are done there where its 90 degrees humidity these coolers will preform much better in our climate all igloo coolers are in stock

Hi Stezzle, I've been diabetic for over 30 years & have never needed a coolbox to store insulin. Actually if insulin is cold it stings when you inject it so my advice is not to cool it. It wont go off unless its extremely hot (a lot hotter than we really get in the uk), Obviously keep it as cool as you can but dont worry too much about it, unless your camping abroad in a very hot area. When I was in Thailand a few years ago it was very very hot so I just kept my novopen in its case wrapped in a damp face cloth & my blood sugar stayed at about 4-6, which is good.
Obviously cooling his beer is a lot more important :-) so an igloo is a good idea. I think costco have some marine 52's for about £26

Hey! It was 30c over the weekend that we went away so i was able to store the spare insulin in the cooler box and then he kept the pen as you suggested. It really worked a treat. The Marine 52s really did the trick and much better than a bog stanard cooler box from a supermarket. mega happy with the results and defo able to go again especially now that we've done the first weekend trip. :D Thanks again for the advice. Means alot. xxx
Glad you had a good time and good weather, It has been grey, cold or wet since Thursday last, 27th. Did you find the local camping shop? more importantly, was he open ?? he is a lazy sod !!
Now you know you can do it. You can try further afield and just enjoy camping all the more. [ It's supposed to be relaxing you know ??]
