Well after bigging up the Costco mat, when I went today they had none left, none in any Scottish store and no more coming in. I'm gutted, should have bought it when I first saw it.

My Alpkit Dozers have just turned up. Opened and resting now. They look great and seem comfortable - I hope so for the price. Next trip to test them out properly not till July but they have got to be better than the airbed we used in May!

I can't fault the Alpkit service. I ordered them late on Tuesday and they were delivered today.

Very happy with the double vango which was mainly what I slept on. we had a thin duvet under us and a warm feather on top an was so comfy and warm. In fact we could resist nipping into the tent for several goes on it during the day....

we put 2 single fat airics into a cheap double sleeping bag, which seems to stop them separating and either of us falling down the middle!

Update, spent last weekend on two 5cm mats, one on top of the other, with a fleece on top of them - I've had a back back since. Now I'm not sure if I hurt my back putting up the tent on my own, but I woke 3 or 4 times every night with backache. Shame really because I love the fact there is more space in the pod with SIM's, I can step in and use it as a place to get changed rather than it being wall to wall air bed. My hubby prefers his Airic so not at all sure what to do now. I'm looking at a 3 week camping trip in Europe and I have to know in advance I'll be able to sleep.
Grrr.
