I see that outwell are doing the traditional square sleeping bags with L shaped zip up as well as the tapered mummy ones in the kids "rosie and Dino" range...there is about £10 difference in price. Does anyone have one and is there much difference in warmth, quality etc? Thanks.
He has the mummy style one. Daughter has Vango Wilderness Midi, bought after cute "girly" proved to be useless. I thought at first the Outwell would be the same ie novelty item rather than fit for purpose but it is really just a miniature! Well made, baffle, "secret" pocket, only difference is hood is elasticated not drawstring.
Edit:I have only seen mummy shaped, where did you find other style?
Just bought a rectangular one for my four year old son - it came by courier today with our Outwell Camper Sleeping bag. It's a special for the National Family Week promotion, we bought ours from Outdoor Megastore.
He doesn't tend to feel the cold much so wasn't too bothered about warmth, I don't think that these are as well insulated as the mummy type - but then he wouldn't stay inside one of those anyway. If it's a particularly cold night he prefers to have layers over him than be "cocooned". It looks good and feels nice and soft to touch.
Can't go far wrong for £9.99 unless you want high-spec
Plus it matches his kids room, so he's going to love it!
