Hi I would like to know if all camping gas heaters are cartridge type? I was hoping to be able to buy another 21mm butane regulator, and feed a small heater that way.
Does such a product exist or are they all cartridge types?
Camping Gaz 907 cylinder can have a parabolic heater screwed to the top, but they will not allow other appliances to connect. There are various ones that will run off a bottle & regulator. None however are safe inside a tent due to potentially lethal Carbon Monoxide gas as well as the risk of tent fires caused by materials being exposed to heat. Use only in well ventilated areas. When away at Easter, we came across a gas heater that had a Carbon Monoxide detector built in, killing the flame if there was not enough Oxygen in the room. This ran off disposable cylinders, so not cheap. Can't remember what the make was! All gas heaters will produce lots of condensation.
as long as your careful you can run gas heaters in tents.i would suggest a carbon monoxide detector just to be safe+only in main area not bed pods and good ventlation more so if you have sig or zig.
£30 on fleece blankets would be a more worthwhile and safer option, esp if you have small children, sat in a camp chair with a nice warm blanket round you keeps you much warmer than one of those little 1kw gas heaters, plus you don't have to keep buying gas refills! Anyway, you won't need a heater, it's going to be hot this year, the weather man said so, so it must be true!!!
