Our first trip is looming, this weekend infact.  I've been checking the weather forecast (it don't look great )  and am now starting to panic about the fact that we won't have any heating in the tent, therefore cold, therefore miserable.

With only days to spare, what are my options for heating the tent without EHU?

Cheap and easy picked up heaters are the ceramic handy heaters - (12.00) think we paid. Runs off the little gas cartridges, we use at the end of the evening just for 10 mins takes the chill off - ideal if no ehu. 

I paid well less that the price on here - hope this option helps !!!

I saw something like this in Netto for £12.99 a few weeks ago but couldn't see what size cans it took so never picked it up 

I have 2 camping stores near'ish to me I'll have a look online now and see what they have.

Yes, Val I do have 6 year old who darts around like a puppy. 

Maybe at this short notice water bottle maybe the way to go.  I already have many, many fleece blankets ready to go (don't cha just LOVE Primark! )  Will pop in a wolley hat each and we all have 4 season sleeping bags.

Val - i agree - as i said in my post, its for 10 mins - take the chill off - the little ones can snuggle down in a element of comfort with the extra blankets etc hot water bottles which are great fun - but in defence,  this weather is unreal - we was away camping at the weekend and never even unpacked the heater - why would you in proper summer heat. - but sadly our climate is so extreme that tonight i have got my central heating on !!! what a difference a week can make.

I was cold in August during the evening when using a tent and although I put on warm clothing my face was cold & my nose was dripping. Going inside the tent didnt help. The only way to get warm was to get into bed - we had excellent sleeping bags.

Apart from the gas heater I guess a bbq might provide a bit of heat while cooking and for a while afterwards
