I have a 2001 Sterling Elite Trekker, my problem is the ariel that sits on top of the van. It is the one that looks like a flying saucer, very common on many vans. When we go away it is very unpredictable, works one time then nothing the next. I have had a look and the top will pull off but only as far as the wire is connected underneath, which has almost no slack. This would enable me to have a look at the wiring connection. It does sound like a faulty connection, does anybody have any advice because I am sure this must of happened to people before, very frustrating for a simple problem.

These omnidirectional aerials are pretty rubbish in my view. Don't bother with ours. we use one like this
