Looking forward to heading off for couple of nights with new (to us) ERDE 142 trailer this weekend. Been pricing up jockey and spare wheel for ages and to be truthful left it late to order (trying to spread all new equipment costs out).
Ordered spare wheel & bracket and jockey wheel yesterday after speaking to company and being assured it would all come next day i.e today and true to their word it did. Arrived about 4pm, opened box enough to check their was all three things I ordered but left attaching to trailer until later.
ONLY now found (i.e. about 5.45 so too late to do anything) that they have sent the wrong size of tyre. I have paid and ordered the right one but they must have picked wrong one off the 'shelf'. Can't believe it....everything had fallen into place.
SO, first Q - do I NEED, by law, a spare wheel (yes we clearly didnt' want to use the trailer without one.)?
Q2) If not, would my RAC cover (pretty comprehensive) help with puncture/ wheel problem?
Q3) Whats the chances of convincing the company, who knew I wanted it to go away this weekend, that they would agree to cover additional costs (~£30) to go get correct one from Halfords and them reimburse......think I know the answer to this one for sure but you never know!
Any advise appreciated from a disappointed camper.
