Hi everyone hope you are all geared up for your jolly hollies if you haven't already had them!
We are heading up to Dumfries a week on Monday and to my hubbies horror...the world cup is about to start when we are away....LOL
So we have decided to buy a freeview digi box because there'll proabably be no analogue signal.
What I really need some advice on is the aerial, what kind of aerial do you all use with your digi boxes? I'd be grateful for some comments on this if you don't mind.

Send him down the pub, thought camping was about getting away from it all and getting back to nature? Or is it different staying in a caravan?

Similar to David's question, do you have any integral aerial on the van already?
If you know the site details you're going to, then you can get a rough Freeview coverage check at this site website here. Alternatively contact the site you're booked in, as they may have aerial connection points available on the EHU post.

Yes there is an aerial on the van, I think we just wanted to make sure that we got a picture. And yes Gareth it is getting away from it all and that is what we will be doing, we are staying on a very quiet site and after a day of walking we like to relax in any way that we want to when we are on our hols. We don't get much chance to when at home both working different shifts. Oh and going to the pub is getting away from it all?

depending if you have a laptop or not when we went away on the may bank holidays we got one of these
which came with a little magnetic aiel and was able to pick up the basic channels in a very weak area. But the good bit was i was able to have a little satellite dish and sky box and show it on the laptop so no tv needed
if you want to stay with ariels then buy one with as many elements as possible this way it will cover you in the low signal areas

Thanks dbspider, I will have a look around. Seen some on Towsure like that for about £29.99. I'll have a further browse on the web and see if there's anywhere else that sells them. Thanks.

Thats ok Gareth, no offence taken. We do like to get away from it all and don't normally bother with the telly, however this is footie your talkin about...lol and we didn't realise when we booked our time off work that it was the same time as the world cup. I wouldn't deny his nibs his pleasure, he works hard enough.
