HI! Hubby looking into these as we don't want to faff with EHU but struggling to keep our food cool, esp milk for the wee ones. Anyone got/used one? What do you think? xxx
Igloo Maxcold and Coleman Xtreme both fantastic. Work very well. Bulkier than normal coolboxes but worth it. I've still had half frozen drinks in mine after 5 days away.
There are quite a few threads on them if you do a search.
If you have a Costco card, or know someone who has, they usually have some in, not a lot of choice between models but a lot cheaper and their returns are brilliant, so if you don't like it you can take it back.

I bought the wheeled igloo maxcold from Costco (£38.76 incl VAT)..just got back today from a week away at the East Coast..had 4 red hot days and the coolbox was fantastic. I had frozen food in it as well as two bags of ice...food still frozen after 4 days and ice still frozen after 5...just added an extra bag of ice after day 5. Very impressed with it and don't have to take my fridge now and rely on EHU.
Another vote for the Igloo Maxcold here, I got the 50Qt size. I've still had loads of ice in mine even after 6 days, ultra reliable, no moving parts, no flat batteries, no EHU, no having to carry a gas bottle.
The gaffer of my local very kindly gives me as much ice as I want!
I bought mine from HERE, faultless next day delivery.

Excuse me butting in on this thread. We are also looking to update from a 12V coolbox to one of the non EHU boxes. We don't have EHU at mo so 12v only ok when we are travelling!!!
We are only going to be weekend campers. Need to store mainly milk, bacon, butter, eggs, cheese in it. What capacity do we need?
Hi we recently invested in a Coleman Extreme. Initially we got the 5 day 50 quart cooler - blue on wheels BUT we notices that the lid wasn't on a proper hinge and kept falling off when you opened the box fully. We exchanged for a 6 day cooler instead - just something to be mindful of.
This is also a 50 quart and holds 72 cans. We found this ideal for 2 of us but does take up some space, hwever you can sit on it which is a bonus!!!
The trick is to make sure you cool it down BEFORE you then repack with fresh ice and your chilled food. We still had some ice after 5 days and that was without changing the ice, just the original stuff we used to cool the box down. Everything was fabulously cold though.
We are off to France for 2 weeks again and this will be our main cooler.
