Was just wondering what you people recommend? We need a tent heater so that we can camp in the cooler weather too. We need a heater that can stay on all night (is that possible?) and is fine for both a smallish tent as well as a big one.  I guess mainly for the nights so in the big one we'd like it kept in the sleeping area.

We have never ever used a heater or EHU in the 20+++ years we've been camping so this is all completely new to us.  But due to the British Weather and growing children who need warmth - we have decided that we'd rather go the EHU route than give up camping all together.

Any recommendations would be fantastic.

for normal day use a fan heater is good but for night time one like this are better as they are silent when running.

We use a cheap fan heater with variable thermostatic control.

Only ever used it on 1Kw setting which  is more than enough to heat our Khyam Ontario 8.
We set it to a low heat setting at night and then let it click on and off as necessary. Personally I don't really notice the noise it makes (not that loud anyway) and find the low hum quite soothing!

Do you work for Dimplex?  I am reluctant to buy a fan heater for camping as the ones I've owned are a little noisy, which I've always assumed means they will be even more noticeable in a tent when the campsite is quiet?  If you work in the industry, can you recommend a quiet one?
