me and the gf have invested in an aerobed and have decided to get ourselfs a decent sleeping bag rather then use a quilt, we always end up pulling it off each other and getting cold.
anyway winfields have the Coleman Hampton Double Sleeping Bag for £50 which seems a great price, having seen it in store it is really soft and looks very comfertable to sleep in, i wonder if anyone else has one who could also recommend it to us? or give us a better alternative for my £50
I would think carefully before buying a double sleeping bag! We had one used it once and never used it again!! Main reason being my husband likes a drink when we camp so ends up in and out for the loo! Wakes me every time!
We have got 2 hampton singles, I read somewhere that can zipped together to make a double. Best of both worlds, if you want a double then put them together. I Have never tried it as I would have to fights the wife off all the time, and I am not a machine.
They are good sleeping bags but are a bit bulky when it comes to packing/storage.
------------- Keep on building bridges, we will burn them all
Keep on building bombs, we will drop them all
thanks for the link i did try googling but most sites charge to postage and packing so you only save a small amount, we are having a short break this weekend so i am thinking of buying it this week.
cut2dabone tried single sleeping bags before i just hate them, so i think its either a double or a quilt for me. dont need to worry about fighting the gf off she is usually asleep come 9-10 while im still up and pottering about lol. i like the fact they are sold as oversized sleeping bags so they give you lots more room.
diddle i understand that point lol, we are lucky cause i tend to only have a couple of drinks, not because i dont like drinking much its because that very reason i hate having to get out the tent during the night, its far too cold lol and even when i do there is no waking my gf up she sleeps through anything! the times i have said did you hear all that rain last night and got the reply, what rain lol
We have one of these. It's great. You do have to wash in in a huge launderette machine unfortunately (we've done this although it says handwash), but if you prefer a double then you're unlikely to find one that goes in your machine at home.
Hi.We have got one.excellent sleeping bag,We used to use it when we used our tent.We used it for a while in the folding camper earlier on in the season. We have changed to a duvet but tbh it is only for the appearence as it matches the colour scheme.I can definately recommend the Hampton although it might be a bit too toasty on a warm summer evening, but then you could just unzip it.hope this helps.Cheers.Alex
thanks for the input campers, i went to buy one today but they did not have any in stock so i have left my number and they will ring when they get some stock in this week, hopefully we will have it for weekend.
I must admit after another look today they do look like they could be too warm in an evening, but at least it will make a difference trying to cool down for a change. i am looking forward to having one.
the softness is what attracts me, will feel very homely, and i do want to be tight on what we spend on a sleeping bag when i have just spent a lot on an airbed.
we also have hudson double,& double aero bed very toasty

I ordered two single ones a couple of days ago. I loathe and detest double bags...draught down the centre, someone elses farts, urgh, not to mention the way you practically end up rolling over in unison every time the OH twitches. Hate them. But I wanted two bags for the TT that we could also use as duvets so these ticked the boxes.
You should never be tight on what you spend on sleeping bags btw. They're the most important piece of kit after your tent. Btw I've used the same Coleman Double Comfort airbed for five years now...never any problems, no leakage or punctures, very comfortable and it was only £20. I bought a spare one three years back when i saw them cheap and it's not yet been out the box.
