Hi

Instead of a roof box, I am looking at getting a roof bag as for me, it gives me some added flexibility.

I've been looking on ebay and there seems to be the stowaway ones/360lt unbranded ones plus other branded ones.

Has anyone used the cheaper brand ones and are they any good?

Thanks

Scott

I have a Hippo roof bag and it is NOT waterproof

I would not recommend it unless you out everything into dry bags

Hi, weve got a Stowaway one we bought from Towsure. We did want a roof-box, but due to not being able to store a roof-box anywhere, this is a very good second choice.

Dont really know if its waterproof, having not used it in the rain....but we are really happy with it. Can get loads in. When we are describing it to a friend over the phone..he wanted to know what sort of volume it held...we said, you can easily fit 2 of our kids..(7 and 10) in, oh and the dog! (small collie, terrier type) But before anyone yelps in horror....it was NOT attached to the car, but on the floor in the living room lol. But come to think of it...12 hours to Cornwall this summer...Mmmmmmm!!

Hi slewis1972

We have a Thule Ranger 90 foldable roof box. We used it at the weekend for the first time and it was excellent. It has a capacity of 340 litres and we used it all. We took it off during the weekend and stored in in the boot of the car. You can buy it through UK Campsite from the The Roof Box Company and get 5% off.

Kids & dogs in roof bag, works for me!

Maybe a larger one could accommodate the monster-in-law as well!
