Well, I was all set to treat myself to a fold n go stove from coleman, then this has cropped up. Do you think that you would be able to put a pan on the grill side if required? As i would like to have the option of coooking on 2 pans at the same time..... don't want a regular cooker as i'm limited on space..... Also, when i had my normal hose/regulator set up, once I'd finished cooking i'd turn the gas bottle off. How would i do this with this kind of set up?

Don't see why you couldn't put a pan on the grill, but TBH I see these things as a bit of a gimick, & this one wouldn't take up any less room than any other 2 burner.
The coleman stoves get good reports but they've got you by the short-&-curlies with their propoane cannisters, which are supposed to be disposable but can actually be re-filled (check previous threads in this section), & are only just starting to catch on over here.
To disconnect as you safely did before you'd have to unscrew the cannister. (I think)

I just unscrew the bottle when I've finished cooking on the FoldnGo if running from the 1 pound canisters. I can't see why you couldn't use a pan on the grill side but it might not be as efficient as a burner, the Coleman site doesn't give the indvidual outputs for each burner. I've bought a cast iron griddle to go across the burners on our stove which works well for us.

As nutgone has mentioned you can refill the canisters, and if you get the right hose run of a large propane cylinder, see my gallery for a picture.

^^^I was hoping someone would come along who actually owns a coleman gas stove (mine's a petrol 2 burner, & I love it).
I personally would prefer a 2 burner & then buy one of the cast grill thingemys like hlk01, that would give you much more scope, but then I am biased, as I mentioned above, I think those gas grilles are a bit gimiky.

Hey, we have a 424 dual fuel as well, oh and a sportster, a Jetboil, and old Primus.. what can I say? My husband loves stoves and they each have their uses. The griddle works well though, one flat side, one ridged. On the FoldnGo it can either cover both burners or be turned 90 degrees so I can use a pan on one burner. he's taking that and the 424 on a DoE thing this weekend, car camping at night.

Oh I forgot we did buy a cheap suitcase stove, mmm I'm sure someone loves them.

Think i'm going to go with the fold n go, and get the adaptor to refill the bottles......
Did you get a normal griddle from such as betterware, or are there camping ones? i sound such a novice, but i sold my 2 burner and grill last year as i have downsized my car and am going 'compact and bijou!'

thanks for your advice - I have a good amount of nectar points so if argos are selling them.....

I use a Coleman Stove & Grill, a suitcase cooker and a Coleman F1.
The stove & grill can used with a pan on the grill but less efficient. I think it actually states not to put one on but I have. It is quite big and I had a problem fitting it onto a folding wire-type kitchen because of the feet, though I found a way around that. I used it for family camp when the grill was used for bacon, sausages and tomatoes for a family of 5. At the end of cooking I unscrewed the canister for safety - didn't want childen experimenting. I'm not sure I would take it on solo weekends as suitcase type and my mini stove are sufficient.

We use the perfect Flow double burner without the grill and its perfect for us. I looked at both and brought the double and a Jamie Oliver Survival Kit by Tefal.
