Can anyone tell me the best way to fix a leaking SIG? We were hit by a long thunderstorm which lasted most of the day. The groundsheet was floating in about three inches of water, just like walking on a waterbed. After a while the seams started to leak and we spent most of the day with towels mopping up. This is the second time the tent has been underwater, but the first time the groundsheet was watertight, this time it started leaking. What can we do? By the way the tent is an Aztec Cantera 9, a great tent.
All you can do is seal the seams with seam sealer available at any camping shop. I would have thought any tent sig would struggle to stay waterproof in conditions you describe.
Hi I have used duct tape to fix a hole in our sig (4 years ago) and it still works haven't had to replace it. We stopped using a tarp due to constant water logging beneath despite ensuring it was folded smaller than the sig base (to prevent water getting trapped). We have no intention of buying a foot print either. when we have pitched on saturated areas and it has rained heavilly we have still found the tent to be clean I just keep a old towel to wipe base if req'd when it is being rolled up.

Yes we always use a footprint, more to protect the groundsheet from stone damage than to keep it clean. I realize the conditions were unusual, but worry about it being waterproof when in normal use.
