Hi All,  as usual i have left this to the last minute after promising i'd be so organised for this trip!  We are off to the Inside Park a week today and i need a windbreak.  Last time i bought one was many years ago when you had one choice - wooden poles, lurid stripes!  Seems things have moved on a bit!  We have 2 young kids so would be good to have a boundary that they know not to go past, (also to provide shelter!).

So, what do you recommend?   thanks, jodie

Still the best option

The new bespoke ones look pretty (vango, outwell etc) but have guy ropes all over the place

Blue diamond ones are more expensive but they do have the wooden poles still

Only if your concerned about maybe splitting the ends of the wooden poles. but for the extra cost for the blue diamond ones I personally just went out and brought new stripey ones again. If you do manage to break a pole it will be just as cheap to replace the whole thing and still be a lot less than the blue diamond ones.

We had a 'proper' camping one last year and the poles bent the first time the wind got up in the night and it was guy roped out, but because of the rain the ground was to soft to stop the pegs turning then the wind pulled the guy ropes. I have now replaced it with 2 £5 ones so i really wont care if it breaks.

Stripey lurid ones for me!! Just bought a 6 pole one in aldi for £8.99 with a guy option!

This is a regular question and the beach ones seem to win out each time.

We're just after one that'll fit in the current car! The old car had a great hatch in the middle of the back seat that took the length. The new one doesn't and the trailer is just a tiny bit too short - we may just chop a bit of the current poles and bunch the stripey fabric a bit with the pole clips. The shorter wooden poled ones are too small and the poles are thinner (so don't look as strong).

Had looked at the metal poled versions, but the weak window sections and amount of guys etc are just a no-no to the OH, even though we have a space issue. he'd sooner leave the windbreak at home....

 I got a stripey beach wind break last week 5 pole for £9.00 no messing with guy ropes and poles easy to replace looking to get a second one soon.
