Anyone had trouble erecting the Khyam Sun porch?  We used for the first time recently. There were no instructions but it's not rocket science is it!, however on the front set of poles we could not insert the ring and pin on both sides. We swapped the poles, tried tricking the tent by getting each side half way but one side would just not fit! Any advice?

It is VERY hard work (much harder than putting our Khyam Ontario 8 up) and requires 2 people and a lot of pulling and pushing. In fact we have now resorted to 4 people, 2 to hold one side in place and the other 2 to do battle with the ring and pin thingy.

It is a bit easier to manage if you unzip and remove the whole front section (doors and windows) as you are fighting less material.

We have found it is slightly easier each time, but still a massive struggle. (Sorry, not much help, but it is a really good addition to your tent once you have won the battle)

It is a very tight squeeze, my husband uses his feet aswell as his hands and we get it in eventually.  Although we have changed our tent, we previously had Campus Indiana 8 and the porch matched that, we've now got Gelert Corvus 6+2 and although the tent is blue and the porch is green we like our porch so much we wanted to keep it.  Fortunately it fits, so all's good.

It gets slightly easier each time you put it up - but I was surprised considering how easy the tent goes up.

Have had little bit of fun getting these in, especialy the first time when managed to trap a finger (only temporary, no amputation required).

Found best way is to put in one side, have it held and before you attempt second side, make sure the you pull the material of the porch as far towards you as you can, every mm helps, and it can be tight to move (helps if you are tall, otherwise do on the flat) also do both poles before you try to locate to postion or clip.

As others have said gets easier over time and ours only been up three times from new.

Agree with the better in time thing- ours has been up about 6 times now, and the hardest part now is getting the 'tail' over the tent and getting it sitting evenly.

We've just got a new porch for our corvus, it's the same design only slightly bigger.  The good thing about it is that the bit that goes over the tent has eleasticated sides so it stays in place better.
