12v/220v coolboxes normally cool to 20c below ambient temperature whereas 3 way fridges will go to 30c /32c below. It really depends on where and when you are going to use the fridge.

A household tabletop fridge , or the glass front beer fridges work well if you have the room and are always on hookup.

Look out for a second-hand 3 way fridge if you can't afford a new one. They keep food & drink at a lower temperature, are silent running, & you have the option of using campsites without EHU as you can run them on gas.

We're going to be camping again this year after a break of a couple of years and need some new equipment. We've never had a fridge before and have relied on cool packs etc but this time we are planning on camping for a week and that's just too much hassle!

Sainsbury's have a beer fridge for £80 at the moment and we wondered if it would be suitable for camping? Have you ever had any problems?

Thanks :)

Comet have some tabletop fridges and are offering £10 online at the moment, they have a larger capacity and a small freezer compartment. They are cheaper than those branded beer fridges.

Mine was £79 and its a nice size,

Cheers,

Mark

Just got the same one from Comet but they cocked up and game me the black one, same price and looks lovely but boy if it isnt shaded the sun does warm up the top of it!

Had it on in all over the weekend in the tent and performed great, expecially as i didnt have £250+ for a propper camping compressor fridge.
