if your fridge was done right in the first place the gas supply should be in 8mm copper tube. if so you should be able to unscrew the fridge pull out disconect the pipe and fit a 8mm compresion stop end.then run the gas and test for leaks with a bit of washing up liquid.as to if you should do it yourself?depends on if your happy to give it ago.it's not a hard job.
