No. Corner steadies are for steadying the caravan and not for lifting. They have not been designed to take the weight of the van. Once you have raised the van with the jack (wheels on other side chocked) you can use the steadies on the up side of the van to steady the van - with the jack taking the weight. Raise steadies before you lower the Jack.
The idea here is that if you happen to be on a fast road and a lorry comes by the wind may just knock the van off the Jack so you have a secondary safety devise in the steadies. Gives you time to get out if you are under the van before the weight of the van snaps the corner steady fittings.
For £95 you can get a three year tyre cover with Tyron Assist for car and van and they will come out within 2 hours (they say) to fit a new tyre for you. You pay for the tyre but don't need a jack...just pop the kettle on whilst you wait for them to turn up.
