Saw one of these online before leaving for Go Outdoors the other week with a different named brand at £20.

Is it a good purchase? It felt sturdy and well made at Go Outdoors but I am a complete newbie to stoves, We'd possibly be cooking in the middle of the canopy (main reason we got the canopy) so would having windguard for the sides be a good idea? or should I not worry about that and just buy a separate guard?

If anyone has one I'd appreciate the advice, it's this or a campingaz one. I wasn't very impressed at all with campingaz's range there, it felt some what cheaper made but as they keep coming up maybe that's just the display models

We bought this at Go Outdoors when it was £20.  We have used it once.  I LOVE IT!

You can use it on any gas cylinder you like as long as you have the right regulator.  When we used it we didn't need a wind shield but you might if it was really windy.

Once you have put the locking bars in place it is just as sturdy as the other stoves, with the added bonus that you can close it down at night.

There is a 20% off everything at Go Outdoors next weekend.

Thanks Debbie, is that online too? I've just gotten back from surgery and am not likely to be able to make the 22 mile trip to loughborough anytime soon.

When it comes to the stove, is it economical on gas? I've got a little fiat punto active sport thing (saving up for a classic car), I don't want to put too big a can in the car, but don't want small canisters that last a night only either.

It seems to be based on the Kampa Alfresco which if we were buying now, we have gone for. It's design I'm sure will help cleaning and it folds down slimmer than our Gelert. Bargain if it's available at £20 !

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it

We have a campingaz 907 attached to ours - the cylinder easily fits into our luggable loo! It will run on a 904 too if you are really strapped for room.  We were told that the 907 should last for at least a week for a family of four.
