For the main light in the tent I have a hook on light fitting with a low energy bulb in it that can hang from the tents lighting hook. I have a low table for inside the tent and have got some of that anti slip fabric for the top of it so that I can put the lantern on it as it's quite sturdy with the feet folded out. It goes without saying that you should never leave any heat source unattended or in reach of any children.
As with tent heaters, they are fine as long as you keep them away from the tent fabric, keep the tent ventilated and use common sense.
