I'm not an expert, but so long as the hose you bought was made for butane then it ought to be fine. The only thing I do know is that I change mine every five years. The hose material breaks down over a period of time.
Using a high pressure hose with low pressure gas is OK. Your set up of cylinder, regulator, hose to appliance means that the gas is flowing at low pressure through the hose.
However, don't use a low pressure hose with gas at high pressure. High pressure gas is gas straight from the cylinder, without a regulator to reduce the pressure. Some older stoves and other appliances used to run at cylinder pressure, and they needed a high pressure hose. But I haven't seen one of those in years.
Please can I ask someone how far you slide the hose onto the regulator/stove nozzles in order to be safe. I tried last night and it was mighty tight, but I did it all correctly with the jubilees.

Thank you
Slide it on at each end as far as it goes, then screw up the clips. Heating up the hose ends first in a pan of hot water makes it easier, as does smearing a little washing up liquid on the regulator and appliance nozzles.
