I am getting a hook up this year and want to take a tv. I need a full size aerial and so need the appropriate pole and fixing equipment. Does anyone know where I can get this stuff from? I already have an outdoor aerial, just need the pole/tripod

Im after the kit that allows you to mount the aerial. Cant seem to find one anywhere, I dont have a caravan just a tent so I need something that is secure and possible goes into the ground. I already have an aerial just need a good mount.

Hi,

We took our little 15" freeview set for the first time last week and got a great picture with all the freview channels

We have just got a small cheap aerial which we have had for years. We knocked one of those spikes in the ground that houses a whirly washing line, then inserted a 3 section adjustable pole with the aerial mounted on top.
The pole was held firm (see photo)by some little wooden wedges. It never moved all week

We got this telescopic mast & just secure it to the ladder on the rear of our campervan with a couple of velcro straps, it collapses down to put away without taking up alot of room and is pretty strong when fully extended, we just pop an Image 420 aerial on the top & it works very well for us (or has done so far) Can easily put it up / take down in less than 5 mins.

That is a very good idea, just bought one of those rotary washing line mounts from ebay for 2.99, thank you for sharing your idea.

Just a word of caution, looking at those pics I don't think that set up would stay upright in a moderate to heavy wind, it's top heavy & barely supported except for a few inches where it goes into the ground tube, it's likely to just bend over or snap clean off (Aliminium tubing is strong, but not that strong) if you put some guy ropes on it, it would take up any whipping around in the wind & make it much stronger.
