Hi Folks
I have just recieved a camping gaz sierra double burner cooker from Freecycle.
I am hoping this can be converted to use calor gas rather than Camping Gaz.
As I will only be camping in the UK, I do not want to use Camping Gaz as I already have the 4.5kg calor bottle.
Hi, does the stove have a rubber hose? Or run off disposable cartridges ?
If it does have a hose , you can just change the regulator to use it with your 4.5kg calor bottle , no problem .campingaz is just the brand name , stoves will run off calor or campingaz.
Check the hose , they need replacing every 2 or 3 years , but only about £2-£3 for a new one .
Hi force ten, that is exactly the same as the sierra. The gas bottle does fit directly via a screw which goes through the hole in the middle. Can this be converted easily.

short answer no it wont be easy to convert
the stove is designed to work on a camping gaz bottle and I don’t think it would be an easy job to convert to run on a calor bottle
This cooker can not be converted. The Sierra works off direct cylinder pressure and is designed to fit directly to the top of the cylinder to enable this to happen. Calor bottles have their fitting at rightangled to the bottle and connect to a regulator which reduces the gas supply to low pressure. the two opperating systems are totaly opposite to each other.
