Lol i used a porta loo in the porch of my hartford xl a couple of years ago, early one morning when i was busting and half asleep i sat myself down only to realise no one had closed the curtains the night before, then looking up saw the family in the next tent sitting and grining at me!! i was so embarased i hid in the tent untill they went out lol.
You will notice as you get older that us incontinents got over the problem buy buying a caravan. Duracel are not long enough for oldies through the night. Maybe till then the old Tenna packs throught the night would assist

I was hoping for a nookie in the tent thread
So was I, I ahve got to stop reading too much into the thread title
In theory if you put a light onto the outer wall of the tent it should shine your reflection back into the main part of the tent and disperse. We have a coleman porch light that has a magnectic base and a metal plate so it can attach to the tent fabric as long as it's not going to get know about too much.

Not everyone has concerns over privacy apparently. As my brother was leaving the campsite on an extremely wet morning last week he drove past a couple sitting in their car completely naked. Presumably they had nothing dry left to wear and were attempting to dry out.
The main thing is to ensure that the light used is not too bright for the fabric around you!
If you also have the bright light level to you so that it throws shadow onto the fabric, then it is likely to cause shadow!
I sell & fit Blinds & Curtains, so this is a regular question I get asked! In the case of e.g. a Bathroom, most lights are high, throwing shadow downwards & most people stand at least 18" away from the window.
Same therefore applies to tent fabrics!
Most sites are at least partially lit, so this will ease your concerns, as the lighter it is outside the less risk of shadow from inside the tent causing you concern.
HA HA, I thought of Austin Powers while reading this.
Over the years I've seen some funny shadows on campsites and have created a few of my own too with random objects for the amusement of others!
If the light is directly above the toilet then all shadows will be thrown onto the floor.
We need more funny threads like this, made me laugh!
lmao - never watched austin powers but have just watched that clip whilst sat at my desk at work (with the volume off) and nearly fell off my chair laughing.

------------- Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways --- champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other --- screaming... WOOHOO, WHAT A RIDE!"
Why is YouTube band at my work?? - will have to wait until I go home now! But very funny so far. But from my point of view 'you're camping, who cares'!
we have a fairly high tent and our not too bright light hangs from the to over us.
looking from outside really all that could be seen was diffused shapes of light, nothing more whatsoever. but yes its very handy having a thetford there when your bursting at 4 am lol
all the best
