no problem,i was one of the first to get these last year(so rob said)and have been useing them with great success.my stupid, mad dog has ony ever pulled it out once, and that was because of very lose soil.
We have 2 JRs so hopefully on hard ground it will be ok.
We have just bought a sun canopy to use instead of our porch awning. Of course the awning keeps the dogs in but we realised that this is not the case with the sun canopy! Doh - never thought about that! So hopefully this will be ideal.
i like the look of the dog tether, but i can see me leaving it behind , as our little dog is just that , he's a yorkie but thinks he's a rotty , the corkscrew type is strong enough.
------------- no tin tent outings booked as yet ,just another cruise in Sept' booked so far
i have a staffy if i manage to convince a campsite to let us bring her because in fact she isnt dangerous just very very stupid, would these hold her secure.
she doesnt lunge at people but does get very excited to say hello to ther four legged friends and also likes to get on your lap when your sitting in a chair.
she isnt the biggest staff in the world but she is stronger than she knows and i would hate to lose her or for her to get hurt
------------- camping sets you free !!!
June - isle of wight
July - devon
and anyway anyhow or anywhere in between
as long as you use good long pegs, and put them in at an angle so they cross over each other under the ancor then it will take a massive amount of abuse.my dog who is a cross between a springer and pointer(nutter/lunatic)can pull to he's hearts content and will not move it.
Just to add, when we first made the tether, it was sent to be tried at a meeting for readers of 'Camping' magazine. It was witnessed holding a combined weight of 30 stones. This was when we used 3mm stainless bar for the clip part. We realised that the bar was being pushed down by being trodden on so changed to a 3mm plate arm and for convenience used a strong plated, flat, spring steel washer.
These were great for gradual or constant loading but we didn't take into consideration the sudden, sharp shocks that a dog may make when charging off at full pelt. Like HSS (high speed steel) drills, they are good under load but a swift sideways blow will snap them easily.
However, we now use the 5mm karabiner and we believe the tether is at its best for the price.

Delta Ground Anchors..the strongest, most secure tent pegs in the world! Nylon anchors twice as efficient as rock pegs in 'average' soil! Quality stainless pegs for tougher soil are available.
The dog tether held my two springer spaniels very well, but when hubby tried to pull it out by lifting it straight upwards, it snapped off in his hand Luckily we bought two!
Which type was it Cathy? Was it a recent or early version?

Just another thumbs up for the great Delta dog tether
We were at a small village festival today promoting the Greyhound rescue centres around the UK
Anyway I laid out 2 tethers and put a plastic covered line with a clip on each end between them We had 8 Greyhounds tethered at one point until someone decided to get the liver-cake out and all hell broke loose But both tethers held fast and we reduced the amount of dogs to 5 just in case Oh and we raised just under £100
------------- Nothing nada zilch no camping this year boohoo
Well done Plossl. Do you by any chance know Annie who works for Action for Greyhounds? (Sorry, not meaning to hijack the thread, just thought I'd ask!) lol

i was so relieved to read the above, I have a delta tether each for my greyhounds, but they have tremendous prey drive and was a little concerned about what might happen when they lunged forward when something small and furry moves. I am now reassured and, to continue where tigermouse left off, do you know lisa/trish from 'greyhound gap' in stoke?
Claire I have met Lisa on a couple of occasions as we have 3 gap dogs My OH is at this moment is out with Lurcherlot form the Gap site
TM if Annie is the same lady who also runs the Rescue at Mildenhall Suffolk then yes I have met her too

She's very slim, possibly mid 40s but hard to tell, has a very child-like voice and when you talk to her you can't get away from her! lol
