Taking my 13-yr-old daughter camping for the first time next week.
I'm a bit worried about her getting cold as in the night as she's a bit nesh and unlike me and my OH she won't be able to share body heat with anyone obviously.
I was wondering about taking a hot water bottle for her but I'm worried the heat will damage the air bed. Does anyone else use hot water bottles with an air bed? Is it OK?
people use alsorts picnic rugs, fleece blankets, duvets and so on the point is airbeds are full of cold air and take away body heat.some insulate under aswell with again picnic rugs and so on.
We took a duvet last year because we only had thin sleeping bags and put it over the top, would it have been more benefit between our sleeping bags and our airbed then?
We put the silvery emergergency blankets (the type they wrap around runners, etc) under airbeds. They rustle a bit but stop cold air. Others have used the metallic car windscreen sun shields from Halfords. A fleecy blanket, thin duvet or similar on top, then sleeping bag or duvet from home and a blanket on standby if still cold. My grandchildren said how warm they were. We don't take hot water bottles but many do.

If a hot water bottle was hot enough to cause damage to an air bed then it's likely to cause even more damage to your daughter!
Hot water bottles are fabulous for keeping warm, but make sure they have an insulated cover on them so you can put very hot water in them without risk of burning anyone. This also reduces the heat being lost from the hot water bottle so that they stay toasty warm all night.
Have improvised with an old lemonade bottle wrapped in a towel before now!
