Has anyone any recommendations of which ones are the most comfortable.

I am considering buying the Outwell Double 5cm as it seems to be reasonably, but not too cheaply, priced.  Also, it seems to be wider at 130 cms compared to others.

(We were thinking of an air bed but have read so many reviews mentioning problems and disasters that a mat seems the best option. Also considered fishing beds but seem pricey for a good one and possible very bulky and heavy to pack.)

Looked at the multimat trekker 75 at attwoolls, was a good thickness and comfy to lay on (£39.99)

Thanks for that - we are looking to get a couple of doubles so that we can put them together and sleep snuggly alongside our 2 kids and the trekker looks a bit more expensive.

We are just about to buy our first tent and looking at all the basics for our first venture so I want to make sure we buy something really comfortable and warm to sleep on so that everyone wants to go camping again as it has taken some initial pursuading to do this!

I am hoping for reassurance that the Outwell SIMs are worth investing in before I commit to buy them as it will be a little over £100 on top of tent, carpet, toilet, awning, sleeping bags/duvets etc. and I always like to do a bit of research before  spending out on something that could be a mistake!

We have only had 1 holiday away in over ten years and hoping to get some time away from it all and to play with the children before they've grown up!

I have Robens self inflating matresses. These are made by Outwell, Robens is sort of the backpacking arm of the OASE company. Outwell are the family arm. Anyway, mine are singles and as said above do not stay together very well. Mine are 10cm thick. The Outwell ones have a non slip backing which is better than mine. But they are very comfortable, so the Outwell ones should be the same. I would cover them with something though as the material on the face fabric gets a but grubby very easily
