Looking to buy a new spacious tent for 2.Have found the reviews very helpful. The Kampa Filey 6 looks good but was also thinking of the Kampa Lulworth or Vango Icarus 600.This would be a long term investment so need something fairly robust and worth the money.

Has anyone out there got any views on this?

All suggestions gratefully received.

The Filey has a 4000HH level of waterproofing and a 100 denier flysheet whilst the others have 70-75 denier flysheets. The higher the denier, the more tear resistant and the longer the tent will last under UV exposure. Most tents won't last a season outdoors in a tent display. However, the Kampa "Ultimate" range tents last longer...

A useful quote I've found previously:

"75D Polyester is 10-20% stronger than 70D nylon, and has 30% longer life under UV exposure. 150D Polyester is 50% stronger than 70D nylon, and has 200% longer life under UV exposure".

The Filey will cost more and is a generally more high spec tent in terms of quality and features than the others you mention, The Lulworth has a similar grade flysheet to most other makes (75 denier).

 It's got to be the Icarus, you can stand up in it there's plenty of room, but get the premier extension, you may not need it now but it will come in very useful in the future.
