Greek/Turkish coffee may seem a bit "gritty" to you at first. I certainly thought so. Even if you usually don't take sugar - you my like half a spoon in this type of coffee. Put it in the Briki as it brews .... not in the cup.
Don't drink it all - the residue is at the bottom of the cup. Also - get loads of "froth" - the more the better.
I now much prefer a small cup of strong coffee, than a mug.
I thought it might be, found a brill little lesson with pics online and they said the grounds sink to the bottom also. A slight grittiness doesn't bother me....if it's wet, hot and loaded with caffiene I'm a happy girl!
Going to order me one-will let you know how I get on!

You can't really compare an Aeropress and a perculator, they make different coffee. It's a bit like comparing filter coffee with a cafetiere - completely different methods of making coffee.
We really like our perculator collection and our coffee isn't bitter. We can also make coffee for 6 people in around 5 minutes.
My thoughts exactly. There's always lots of posts about equipment to make "coffee". To my mind the first decision is which type of brew you're seeking, then the best kit to deliver that brew.
At home, our drinking differs during the day. It varies from freshly filtered for a smoother drink first thing, to an espresso based cappo later, to full crema espresso after dinner.
But for general purpose camping our filter jug does us fine.

Think I'll stick with my Aeropress. Ok, it's not the very top coffee maker, but it's very drinkable to me. Even making two cups is not an issue but I'll be buggered if I'm giving any to the kids!!! lol
Compact, non-electric, and hasn't broken yet after 5 years of use. Filters re-usable etc
