brought coleman family cookset today, have been eyeing this set up for a while, any went to go outdoors for the first time ever, and needed to get some bits for family camping trip on monday, extra pegs, new water bottle, manual pump for blow up beds, anyway i noticed the cookset for £24.99 and I recall seeing them online sports direct for £18.00 noticed on a sign that they guarentee to beat the price if seen anywhere else cheaper so they cost me £16.10. which help pay toward the cost of the discount card...... well chuffed :-)
looking forward testing my new pots and pans out, as was using milk pans before and a dinky frying pan...... roll on spag bols here i come :-)

I'm not terribly impressed with our family cookset - is it the red one?
The handle on the mid sized pan only stays on when the pan is the right way up. If you try to tip it over to drain it, the handle doesn't stay attached. A very un-Coleman feature and probably enough for us that we're going back to our old cookset for the time being.
I'm not sure what the frying pan does as we don't use it as we've got other things that do the same. Probably less need to tip a frying pan?
I have got an plain aluminium set from Tesco for me and my kids to use when we go back packing, kept my eye on it for some time and ended up getting it for £7

personally I'd take it back if I had the chance. The big pot is useful but the smaller one is downright dangerous as the handle slides out of the pan when tipped too drain.
It gets good reviews but people often review before they have fully used a product.
think as long as dont try to drain anything with the smaller pot i be ok perhaps? needed a good pan and a big size, least i didnt pay full price for it, if i dont like it will call colemans and write a complaint of the poor concept of design to the small pan!!!!

I had a set and sold them on ebay after one use as like Piglet didnt like the handle. Shame as size wise they were great. If only they came with a permanent folding handle they would have been great.

Be very careful with it and make sure anyone else who uses it is careful. As you tip the pan, it slides off the handle which is less than ideal if it's full of something hot...(I suspect the frying pan is the same?)
You could get a decent sized stock pot for less money...
We bought our set at the end of last year and have no receipt for it, plus we didn't buy it locally. If I'd realised the problem I would have returned it. Hubby is going to write to Coleman in the US about it, Coleman in the UK are pretty poor.
