How do people manage to sit round a table with children? Our camping table is fine for adults to sit round on their camping chairs but much too high for the kids in theirs.

Are they going to have to eat off their laps?

Thanks.

We fold a pillow in half and put it on the seat for youngest son so he can reach the table.
Did consider buying another, lower table but that meant packing more equipment and we take the pillows anyway!!

We bought a table with two benches, the sort where the top rolls up and fits in between the two benches which then clip together. We got this last year, despite my doubts about it, so we could all sit at a table together (2 adults and two young children) without having to cart around two full size chairs for the boys.

It turned out to be a godsend and we wish we had done it sooner as we now take thstable and benches and thn tw fll szechirsf usdulltsto rela in.

Cheers

We bought one of the Outwell Baffin stool table combos:

OUTWELL Baffin Table/Stool Small Light CAMPING 2010 NEW

As a stool, our 3 year old can sit at the main table easily.

With the table top added, he can use it as a table for his kids chair.

Kampa also do one.

We did make an improvement to the design to stop the table top tipping off. My husband added a couple of sections of aluminium angle with a pot rivet gun to either end of the under-side of the table, making a "C" shape to catch the ends of the stool as you open it out under the table. This prevents any movement in the top of the table, which otherwise just sits on the stool and can tip if you touch the outer edges.

One of our best items now.

You can also get a version cheaper without the table top.

Helen
