still quite new to to this Cobb cooking and thus far have only used cobblestones but seeing as there seems to a national shortage at the moment we are about to order some heat beads! When I buy the heat beads is there anything else I need to buy too to light them, obviously the cobblestones light easily, no need for fire lighters etc, but what about the beads?
Any suggestions/tips gratefully received, how best to light them and what kind of lighter fuel to use? Also how many do I need to use for a meal and how long do I have to leave them before starting to cook?
Lots of questions I know - don;t know what I would do without this site!!
Same here, we just use low odour firelighters and 7-9 good quality charcoal briquettes such as Weber brand which are sold in most diy stores and garden centres.
Just wait until the firelighters have burnt out and the briquettes are glowing before placing the grill plate and lid on.
