Firelighters !! But try to get the one's with a low odour, it will tell you on the box, lots of places sell them !!

Same here, we just use low odour firelighters and 7-9 good quality charcoal briquettes such as Weber brand which are sold in most diy stores and garden centres.
Just wait until the firelighters have burnt out and the briquettes are glowing before placing the grill plate and lid on.
