Hi and welcome to UKCS. We only ever tried a sleeping once and once was enough, now we use a duvet. To ensure that we are warm on a night we put a picnic mat under the airbed, a fleecy mattress cover on the airbed then a fitted sheet then duvet, it's just like being in bed at home

We use sprayway comfort xl bags (rectangular), which can be zipped together. Loads of room and very warm.
You can just take a quilt from home - many people prefer this, although it normally means you have a bigger pack size.
If you're sleeping on an airbed you need to think about the cold coming from underneath. You can put a cheap picnic blanket under the airbed, and have some kind insulation (sleeping bag, quilt) on top of the airbed but underneath you when you sleep.
Self Inflating Mats (made form foam) are much thinner and warmer then airbeds, but quite a bit more expensive. Some people say they are more comfortable than airbeds, some people say the opposite.
Camp beds I'm not so sure about.

Yes, the mummy bag, when in, and zipped up with the head section string pulled tight is an odd feeling. But in the cold weather its a winner. My only fear is that if i had an emergency in the night, like a fire or burglar you are stitched up like a kipper and it would take ages to get out.
Perhaps a normal square double bag from Argos would suit you, have a look at this one, 340/2629 Keep the mummy bag for the cold weather.

I use two Sunn Camp kng sized sleeping bags zipped together, regardless of whether Mr Grumpy is with me or not. I can't bear to feel restricted while sleeping and as the dogs snuggle up with me it's important that the whole of the air bed is covered.
