If you take a look at the Outwell Hartford specs on their web site it looks like the living areas are the same size so the carpets will be, but unfortunately it's not explicitly stated what the size is.

It looks like the XL has lightly wider pods and has 3 as opposed to 2, but the same central floor plan.

Is there any difference in price between the L and XL carpets?

I'm assuming you are asking as you have the L (as do I). We are new to the Hartford (and to camping) but have found that there is also a difference between the older and newer L (I think the change was in about 2007).

We just this weekend went and bought two picnic blankets (with waterproof backing) from Decathlon at 2 for £12 which are massive and fold down into next to nothing. I may regret not going for a custom fit one at £50+ but we've spent enough on all the other bis this year.

We have a 2008 XL, we.ve used groundsheets and picnic rugs over the last two years and never really had a problem doing so, but we decided upgrade this year - just looking for best price and for the sake of a slighty smaller carpet its something we are more than prepared to live with. Every XL carpet i have found on line so far comes to just over £70 including P&P. GO OUTDOORS sell there's for the same price with there discount card. However the L carpet as long as it is not this years new season can be up to £20 less depending on P&P costs.

Enjoy the Hartford Mark, we're into our third year with ours and couldn't ask for a better family tent, even if something horrible happened to it, we would probably buy the hartford again.

I know that Towsure in Sheffield have about 4 or 5 Hartford L carpets at 49.95 (I think) in there 'end of line' bin. I got the XL groundsheet for £25 and thought that while it is bigger than the L I can just fold the additional bits under the tent and save myself £10.

Hope you find what you are looking for!
