Hi All, I'm after a charcoal BBQ for the next camping trip. It needs to be small(ish), portable and if possible, double up as a fire pitt? Does one exist and if so, can someone point me in the right direction to what I should be looking for and how much should I be paying?
I use a cheapy bucket BBQ, you can get them in supermarkets and poundstretcher type shops for about £6.
They don't make the biggest firepit but plenty big enough for a small campfire. Think we've had more fires in ours than BBQs
Check the link above there is a portable BBq now £6.99 from £19.99, it has reasonable depth and is well made enough, even to use as a stand for a portable bbq and of course you can fill the bottom tray with charcoal.
I have just bought one, it is better quality than anything i have seen for that price.
The instructions are helpful and already have averted disaster telling me that I cannot use indoors!

I've got one of the Outwell ones and think that it is brilliant, we use it to barbeque at home and on siteand providing you're carefull when you take the grill off to use it ifor a small fire pit it does that job very well.

I think that is a great bit of kit for use when camping, the rack height above the fire is adjustable and then when the cooking is done move the tripod out of the way and use the base as a fire pit
I think it looks very retro as well reminds me of cowboys sat around the camp fire
We have a portable barrel BBQ which is fantastic. Use it in "barrel" mode for roasting chickens and joints of meat, open it out and you have 2 good sized BBQ grill areas. I transport the bag of charcoal inside the BBQ to save a bit of space.
