Hi everyone,

We are camping for 2 weeks and are taking a fan heater in case its chilly at night.

I wonder if anyone can tell me if because the heater is 2 kw on full setting, it will only be 1000w if used on the number1 setting ?

We are using the electriic supply on site and do not want to blow the trip!!!!

We have a cable with RCD protection.

Many thanks in anticipatiion

Steve

we use a blow heater its only a small one but does take the chill out of the air, especially if temperature dips in middle of night. It didn't blow any fuses.

Only thing I have on my mind, is how much electricity they use? I have been on one site where the warden complained about people using more than their "fair share" of electric when it was included in the price.
I did read on here somewhere (my brain hurts trying to remember where) but a meter was on and if you exceeded your "allowance" you were charged for the excess!

I believe appliances can vary from one to another, and one would be advised to check the manufacturer's guff to be on the safe side.

We have the outwell fan heater when we use EHU and a portable gas heater when we rough it on shell island. The Outwell model is a great BIT of kit and very child freindly, the gas one is also great but we are never relaxed when it's on due to the kids and dog.

I think the amount sites charge for elecrtic more than covers the standard 16 amp per pitch......if your paying through the nose for the electricity, you have the right to use it.

If the Warden is gonna moan, then there are plenty other sites to go to...

We use a fan heater, and it has been on the high setting without any problems. And a kettle, toaster, lights etc...

Our fan heater has 2 settings - 1kw and 2kw and also variable temperature.

We only ever use it on 1kw and the temperature at about 1/2 and this is more than enough ot heat our Khyam Ontario 8 at the beginning and end of each season. Never usually take it during the summer months unless it is boiling hot as it also has a cold blow function!

Never had a problem with tripping the power and we also run a mini fridge and a light.
