Hi there.  Having just upgraded all my camping gear to include some home comforts, I am now looking into electric cool boxes and running one off my 110ah leisure battery. 

Any advice for a quiet one which functions well?

Will it drain the battery very quickly?

We trickle charge the battery off a 12w solar sheet by the way.

Not sure if the electric coolbox will be much of an advantage over a none electric one?

Hi there, we tried running an electric coolbox off our 110ah leisure battery, and it immediately blew the fuse in the coolbox.

As previously said, it is best to run it off your car battery with the engine running.

We've got one of the igloo boxes the 24L(38cans)"Picnic Basket" model(had it for 5-6 years now)and it's great bit of kit..

Very durable as it's not made of the thin brittle plastics that some camping stuff seems to be made of! (..it's survived being dragged across many festival sites!)

..and if stuff is chilled before hand and you include a couple of bottles of frozen water, it'll keep stuff cool for a good 4-5 days.

Even though we've now got a "full size" fridge/freezer in the MH,I still use it to take the beer in... (..as the OH will insist on putting food in the fridge..)
