I'd really like to know if a camp bed is more comfortable as I struggle with an airbed. Anyone use one?

I use a 6legged carp fishing bed when Im in the tent coupled with a four seasons fleece lined s/bag...and never had a better sleep(Except when I had the Trailer Tent)I will only go back to the air bed in the direst of emergencies...Dont care If I have to leave some things at home...from now on that bed goes where I go.........

Ditto- I use a 6-legged fishing bed too( Nash Indulgence 3) fabulously comfy. I sleep better on it than on my bed at home.

Terry Hearn something or other I use...What I like is that each leg has inedpendant lifting/lowering points on the feet...so I can get it level in most circumstances and theres no roll effect cos your sleeping length ways across a slope or something...Thats two votes for beds Sam.........

The one and only time I slept on a camp bed I was cold and very uncomfortable. It was too hard and too narrow. It was an ordinary 'canvas stretched onto a 4 legged metal frame' type (see Argos catalogue)

I now have a Coleman airbed and find it soft, supportive, warm and comfortable.

So thats the other point of view !!

I think you are going to find it a hard choice to make as it is very personal. Is there any chance you could borrow a campbed before you buy one, so that you can give it a try ?

Good Luck.

There's airbeds and then there's an aerobed, nothing comes close imo

I've never tried campbeds as they always look too narrow and I think the metal sides might dig in

I definately think it all boils down to personal preference but in my limited experience I would say which ever you go for, invest and get a good quality product. A cheap airbed or camp bed is going to be a problem
