I remember seeing them on sale a few years ago, but not recently. Others may know if anywhere still sells them. I have used a friends and found that the cooking area wasn't huge and it wasn't as stable as I would have liked. It was on a pedestal with a round base, but the single central pole meant that the top cooking area wobbled a bit. It depends how many you're cooking for - for a couple it's probably fine, but we were cooking for a small tribe.
When we tried to buy something similar I noticed that our local Comet store (I don't like Comet but they were right over the road from us) had a large George Foreman grill which came with a very sturdy stand. We've used that and found that it has several advantages:
1. It has a timer so when you've had a few beers the cooking doesn't end up cremated.
2. It cooks both sides at once which saves poking around with a stick.
3. It is better at draining fat and grease away.
4. It has a larger cooking area
5. It is totally stable.
Ours uses 1600w which is fine on a decent hook up.
Having said all that - the kids have grown up and we've just had our first trip on our own and the grill was too big. A couple of burgers and sossies looked a bit sad sat in the middle of it.
