Hi EVERYONE.

Can anyone recommend a decent 12v to 240v inverter. Has to power mobile phones and laptop.

Looking for one that works well at a reasonable cost.

When we was at Truckfest a few year's back we bought a 240v invertor, it was a sterling model about 300watts i think, did the job well enough i must say.

Get mine from maplins when they are half price. They are not recommended for charging batteries though.

Voltage is not as stable as it is on mains. Your charger may not like the spikes or unusual current.

Also they soon drain a battery.

I bought a 150w inverter to power a 65w laptop and it was useless, unless the battery was already fully charged. Also, as Grampian91 says, they use (and waste) a lot of power. I bought one of these CLICK and it is so much better.
You can get universal 12v phone chargers from most £1 shops.
