I've just brought my little old Eurohike 110 down from the loft to see if it needs fettling up before passing it on. It is in good nick, except the elastic loops (with hooks on to attach to outer rings) at the four corners of the inner, and along the flysheet, had perished away. In my local camping store all I can find are 'pegging rubbers' in different lengths, and I'm not convinced they'll be right. The old stretchy stuff reminded me of heavy-duty hair-bobbles, but it wasn't in loops, just lengths of elastic with a woven covering, threaded through a smallish hole in the corner hooks then knotted.
Please could anyone enlighten me? Is this sort of stuff still available - on a roll maybe? I'm not convinced standard hair bobbles would be strong enough for the job!
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
