Common problem no doubt, our fridge works fine on electric power but not on gas,it is an electrolux rm series that has hardly been used, i have taken it to bits and all seems ok but would appreciate any info regarding the problem and what to look for. many thanks john.

Silly question, but does the gas light OK?

Assuming that it does, is your fridge level? They are not very tilt tolerant and a few degrees off will stop them working on gas. I think that the electric element is less prone to this.

Are the air vents & flue clear?

Standard warning - Be careful working with gas unless you know what you're doing.

As the Capt says, it must be level for the gas to work and also ensure any switches for the electric are switched to off
