This is something I wrote on a similar question for an RM212 fridge, more modern fridges have a separate thermostat to control the temperature so only have one setting other than ‘off’ on the gas control knob. The rest of it will in general apply to any fridge
There is a knob marked 1/2/3 or low/med /high which controls the gas side. At the side is a button to press to make the spark, a few have electronic ignition and this will have a slim orange switch which when flicked on will start the spark and flash, it will stop flashing automatically when the flame lights. To light you need to make sure that you have a spark and that gas is switched on and up as far as the fridge, best way to pull the gas though is to light a hob on the stove. There is a sight glass at the back left hand corner of the fridge near the floor, press the spark button and look though the sight glass for a spark, this takes some getting used to at first. You should get a spark every time you press the knob, any less and the sparker, (piezo), is wearing out. Assuming you have a spark, turn the control knob to 'Max' and push and hold it in for say 20 seconds but don't try to light it yet, let go and wait a minute for any excess gas to disperse. Now push in the knob and press the spark button repeatedly, the flame should light. If it does, continue to hold the knob in for 10 or 15 seconds for the thermocouple to warm up, release the knob the flame should stay lit and you will now have a fridge working on gas. Regulation is by the three setting as shown on the knob, you can leave it on high for an hour, this should get the ice box frozen and you can then turn it down. The reason to hold the knob in without trying to light it, is to allow time for the gas to push out the air in a long pipe though a very small jet. This should not be necessary every time but is useful if the fridge is not used on gas very often. If a fridge is slow to light in general then always pause for half a minute after 10 seconds trying, however you should consider getting the fridge serviced.
