Hi there, we looked at the mojave but ended up with zenobia 6 as we like the idea of bedrooms at either end, can't comment on it's performance as we will be using it for the first time next week, happy tent hunting!!
Hi I have only ever had outwell and found them to be really good, plus
You can get a side extent ion and carpet and footprint ground sheet if you are as sad as me,for their tents. But you do pay for the quality though.
Hi Crodda, I can recommend the Outwell Oakland XL, good standing height in the living quarters and plenty of daylight due to the large windows, I would say it’s more of a 3-4 man tent than a 4-5.Was at my local GoOutdoors Friday and they had them on sale for £200 which is a great price, they are normally £250 to £280. Also if you are thinking of buying the carpet at the same time Newquay camping are selling them at £46.89 so get Gooutdoors to price match -10%. The footprints are expensive for what they are so I can recommend this tarpaulin from Screwfix which fits perfectly under the Oakland XL.
Hi Chris, I went for the Outwell because they was recommended by a member of my family that's been camping for several years, also my wife wanted something that she could stand-up in and it had to have sewn in ground sheet. If you are just setting up one thing I would advice is set yourself a budget because it's surprising how much equipment you will buy (need) once you’ve bought you tent.
Having looked at the Scenic Premium 5.0i on the net the size\footprint looks about the same as the Oakland XL. The steel pole construction is a good thing in my books, ground sheet don’t look sewn in so is this suitable for you? I’d say it would take a little longer to erect than the outwell due to having to erect the flysheet first then clip in the whole inner compartments afterwards. One thing I like the look of the Scenic is the side porch.
