yes we had trouble finding them, the were in the BBQ and garden furniture clearance section in Sheffield - it looked like a jumble sale and none of the items were priced but once located we found a staff memeber with a hand held pricer
Went into our local B&Q store to pick up some bedroon furniture and so some 4 packs of gas £3.50 so picked up a few packs for my mum/sisters and myself, was just walking away when an employee asked me if he reduced them some more would i buy more i said yes so he promptly reduced them to £2 per pack of 4. 22 packs at £2 =50p per canister. then we went to our local asda 4 pack of melamine mugs reduced to £1 took what they had. well pleased with myself today
Errrr....don't these canisters vary considerably in quality? I've had them that have run out too quickly (cheap connectors was my guess) to some that caught fire in the stove, others have lasted seemingly ages with no safety issues. Is there a danger that under £4 for 4 is just too cheap?

I dont see how reducing the price makes them any less safe ? The canisters from our local B&Q are 220gm Gelert and were £7.50 for 4 a couple of weeks ago. B&Q need to clear stock for the Autumn and are reducing all the camp stuff dramatically to do that - its their business model and I for one am happy to take advantage
We only tend to buy original CP250 CampingGaz (250gm) canisters or Towsure/Kampa (227gm) ones - and agree real cheapies of unknown provence or content weight may not be worth it. But in terms of longevity these B&Q ones are going to be ok for me. All the canisters I have ever bought were marked Made in Korea so I would expect them to probably come from the same factory - though if you look closely at the Gaz ones the materials used to shape the nozzle and canister seals were done in a different machine. Towsure and B&Q ones look identical
Finally I would expect if B&Q had been selling sub standard gas cylinders that leaked or something (and Gelert wouldnt put their name on that I suspect) then that sort of thing would either make the news or get stoppped by Trading Standards
